New to Forum and Sailing

In fact, so new, that I just signed up for the ASA-101 course for September. Sailing has been something that has intrigued me for some time, but never seemed to get myself into. Now is the time.

Took a 2-hour ride in Lake Travis, TX this past weekend and loved it. Decided it was time to pursue this interest.

I’m in the Dallas, TX area next to Lake Lewisville.

I’m currently perusing forums, reading books, “window shopping” ;-) and just getting my bearings and soaking up info. I figure after the course, I’ll look to rent a few times and possible take other courses.

My initial goals are to cruise the lake, no real desires for racing. I would like to eventually expand to bay cruising and then perhaps a long trip on the seas. I’m in no hurry, just taking the first step and then the next.

Looking forward to meeting some of you.

Howdy and Welcome Aboard CF!

Lake Lewisville is a nice big lake, with lots of boating activity.
You should have some fun there.

Lake Travis is a very nice lake too (I have sailed and raced on it).

Bon Voyage on your new adventure (learning about sailing) and on the forum too.
