Hello fellow pilgrims. I have sign up with this site more than a year ago. I was reading all your
forums and keep on dreaming. Then I realize with a shock that dreams have an expire date if you don't do something about it. My dream is coming true to sail the oceans because I did resign from my job the 1st of August and working my notice time now. I must get my
boat to the sea because it is still on inland
water here in
South Africa. I have a Van Der Stadt 34 with the name of
N'TOMBI. The meaning is Young girl in Zulu.
I have 3 months to do this, and in
South Africa this is not a long time. The end of November I must go to
Cape Town to do a Ocean skippers course. I would like to start the 15 of December 2011 sailing from Richards bay to Nosy Be in
Madagascar to build up miles and experience. I have 2 guys who will do it with me. They have a lot of miles more than me and I trust that I can learn a lot from them.
I would like to get some help and guidance from you to do things right. I have see some useful and good answers on this forum from people with mountains of experience and I would like to pick your brains during this time.
My wife will come along after I have done a Yacht Master ticket. I will do it in March/April 2012. The
price the sailing schools ask you to do miles is ridiculous and I can not afford it.
Thanks and regards
