Hello, We, Paul and Patricia, grew up on the Gulf of Mexico's
Texas coast. We grew up with and owned PCs and
fishing boats but never learned to sail. Our 3 daughters all had
sailing lessons while growing up. Watching them sailing the mono hulls looked like too much
work to us. So we never took lessons or looked into a sail
boat. Jump to present; last daughter grown and out of the nest...
We're that adventuresome, some say foolish couple, that went on a fantastic
charter and thought this is great and we can do this. So in May 2019, with no sailing experience, we bought a 2014
Leopard 44; Sterling Seas. It's been wonderful, exciting, and scary all at the same time. Since May we have logged over 300 hours by puttering around in bays
learning our cat and the [ropes] "sheets", two 4 day cruises with a Master
Captain on board, and two 2 day cruises without a Master
Captain on board. We have so much more to learn but its been a fun adventure. We have met so many great people along the way who have been patient and helpful. We are preparing for our 1st, 3 week solo
cruise in May 2020. Hope to chat and see some of y'all out there.
