New on this forum - interested in hybrid boats

Hi,
I am new on this forum. I am originally Italian, but live in Norway. I both sail regattas and enjoy driving around with my Nimbus motor boat.

I am seriously considering to buy an Hybrid motor boat - e.g. a Greenline. However, I have got some second thoughts concerning the reliability of Lithium batteries.... They have a tendency to catch fire....
Any feed backs?

Fire risk is dependent upon the particular lithium chemistry of the battery. LiFePo has lower risk than most other lithium chemistries.

I have asked Greeline what kind of batteries and safety measures they have on their hybrid boats. Here’s the answer:
Our batteries are 56V lithium polymer with each 13.3 kW.
The cells come from Kokam which is a battery manufature in Korea.
The final battery is build in Slovenia by us.
The maximum current before overheating for our battery is 700A but we limited the BMS (battery management software) even to 300A.
In the unlikely event of overheating each battery has a thermo sensor and the system will shut down.
