New Members - Kevin and Nita

Hello all, We are Kevin and Nita from Maryland's eastern Shore. We sold our home about six months ago and now we will start to fulfill a life long dream of living aboard a sail boat, and cruising with our grand daughter. We are looking forward to the chalanges ahead. Once we read up on what's going on we will be asking plenty of questions.

My wife and I just joined too and we also live on the eastern shore -- on the Sassafras River. We live aboard most of the year and want to soon head south for the winters so that we can get rid of this "land-based-storage-unit" we call a house.

Welcome to CF. You'll find a lot of friends here. Lots of Bay people and ex Bay people too. We have a lot about most things related to boats and the people who get to tame them. We do questions like no place else. Over 140,000 posts so far. We may have discussed things you are anxious about already. Maybe there is something new too. Share your experience with the less experienced and grow from your time here.

Good for you! And wonderful the the grand daughter.

Fair winds and following seas. You wanna know? Ask over here, where you find some smart sailors who are very helpful.

Thank You all for your replies, we have just begun the road to our dream, as many of you know it is not a quick process especially with a little one. Luckily we are just renting a storage unit we call our home, when the right boat for us comes along it will be an easier process than having to go through the home selling process. Kevin has many questions for you Captains, as for me my concern is shoes, clothes, nik-naks and other personal items that seem to be attatched with Land Living. Again Thank You for the warm Welcome.

Nita,

As you look at boats I think you will find what is appropriate to keep on a boat, and what is not. Everybody goes about their adventure a different way. BEST WISHES in finding your dream boat. It's all about reasearch, research, research, and asking millions of questions. Knowledge is always power.

Boat types

I have a idea that a 35 to 42 foot boat would be nice. I like the Tayana 37, How ever thats why we have joined this web site - to gather information from other sailers.
