New Member - No Boat Yet, but Looking to Learn / Grow and Maybe Own One

Greetings from sunny Malta

I always had a keen interest for sailing boats. Not motorboats though, always attributed sailing to be cooler because pirates in those smexy ships used to do it haha.

Anyways, jokes aside, the only time I used to go on a sailing yacht was when I used to be invited onboard my friend's boat. Used to go on short cruisers around the island + a couple of times to Scicily and Italy. Nothing else apart from those. Besides I always was just a passenger and not really a crew as I was between 10-15 at that time xD

Unfortunately they moved away and I do not see much of these peeps anymore So never went on a boat again. . .

Nowadays that I settled down a bit. . got my own job and stuff. . Am looking into learning more about sailing, what it involves, costs. . .and maybe someday own my own boat

My favourites at the moment are 10-11m bermudan sloops or ketches xD And I also have a weakness towards the heavier, wider, wooden boats.

That is all for now about me

In short - Hi :P

Welcome, we loved our Tayana 37 in our youth but in our seniority brought us to a trawler. It moves at the same speed but we have more room and less physical work.

Welcome aboard ! Have you thought joining a Volnteer Marine Resuce close to you. I don't have a boat at the moment but assist the group along the river It is great, every rescue we attend has different circumstances and people. It is a great way to obtain boating experience, see you on the water one day, bye now now !
