Hello! I just found this forum looking through sailing apps on my phone
. My wife and I do not currently own a boat
, and we can both be considered newbies.
I have sailed since I was 15yo, but not too often. I started on my dad's sunfish in a lake on Ft. Bragg. I later sailed the same sunfish in Biscayne Bay. He eventually bought an o'day 25 that I sailed on here and there.
My wife and I are eager to learn, and will be taking the ASA classes
here shortly. We look forward to livaboard cruising one day. (Long goal of about 15 years)
I am also seeking information on possibly switching career to something on the water
as aposed to next to it. Currently I work
for USCG as a welder repairing buoys and coast guard boats.
Thank you for reading and if you are near to SC and are looking for volunteer crew for short or day sails
, please let me know. I am also willing to volunteer my mechanical / welding skills for boat
