Post New member intro...

Hello fellow sailors,

I have been a lurker here for a while and finally decided to register today.

I have been around boats all my life and yearn to be around them anyway I can. I used to spend summers as a kid with my granddad on his boat and was introduced to sailing by my Aunt & Uncle on their Bristol 35.5.

My first boat was a 15' Runabout, second was a 24' Sea Ray Sundancer, third was a 20' Buccaneer and finally we got a real boat, a Tartan 37.

We currently sail the Chesapeake bay, mostly the Northern portion but hope to get to do some coastal and offshore cruising when the girls are a bit older.

I hope to share my knowledge with this forum and learn from all the experts...glad to be here!

Welcome

Greetings, Windgeist,

Welcome to the Cruisers Forum and the company of some very experienced sailors, as well as many new ones to the passion we all share. As I’m sure you have seen, it is an invaluable repository of knowledge and know-how, sea stories and experiences, good humour and even touches on the philosophical aspects of sailing.

I look forward to your input. I’m sure it will be infused with the “Spirit of the Wind”, as your name implies.

Aloha again WG,
All topics are hot. Some are just "hot" for the individual who posted the thread because they might need to do an emergency repair!! If you look through the discussion board you can see which ones you might want to research.
I'm redoing a big boat so anything with constructiona and repair captures my eye as well as diesel mechanical stuff. Not to into electronics but occasionally I pop in there. I like discussions about celestial navigation.
Good luck on finding what you like.
