I'm new to the forum but an old sailor. We're planning on heading to the Carribean this November. I am a licensed Captain working part of the year captaining to keep the cruising kitty full. Check out my website.

Hey! I know the Beast! It waked me one time during a sail change. Pulled a fairly tight 360, circling my boat just off marker 5. The lesson is, always wear your harness.

Sorry you got waked. We try to maintain as much distance as possible from all other vessels. We're selling a thrill ride so we have to do a lot of high speed turns and sometimes it's difficult on busy weekends.
As a sailor I'm very sensitive to the effect of my wake when Captaining a large power vessel so I hate to hear that we've caused someone a problem.
Fair winds,
Captain Dave

Thanks. I may have written too quickly. I understand why all those folks have the big grins on that boat and try to give the people making their living on the water, excursion boats and shirmpers alike, as much room as the bay will allow. You guys are trying to make a living, I'm just out for recreation. Anyway I'm sure whoever was at the helm that day simply saw a sailboat and I didn't look in distress. No harm, no foul.

By the way I used to crew on an S2 36. Now that is a really nice boat. All the best. See you on the bay.

It's the girls up front getting everybody clapping that gives me a grin. As you passed me coming into the boardwalk yesterday, I was watching to see how many didn't clap.

You were coming up behind me, I slowed and pulled to starboard a bit to let you past, then also watched to see what the guy in the inflatable was going to do when you turned to dock.

John,
I remember seeing you. You have a nice boat. Thanks for giving me extra room to turn around.

Aloha Panama,
Welcom aboard! Haven't seen you here in Hilo Bay. Maybe in a couple of years?
Kind Regards, JohnL
