Hello to everybody! I have a Holland 34 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and sail habitually across the Rio de la Plata.
I started sailing and racing in 1962, but now I am more mature and only cruise, mostly short distances, singlehanded.
I used to sail a Sabre 30 ("Off Ice") from Jamestown, RI. when I was living in Massachussets.
If I can be of any help here in Argentina, please ask.
Carlos
Ahoy Carlos! Any chance you've met a nice Pearson32 that is kept in BA, name of "Evergreen" with a matching green metallic hull? (At least, that was the color when it left the US about a decade ago.) Or the owner, Gustavo Vivaqua?
Welcome Carlos, nice to hear from someone in BA. Wish I knew about you last year as I was down there this time last year to help a friend sail his boat to Ushuaia.
Spent a great 2 weeks in and around your city. Had a great time but trying to stay with you 'natives', I never got to bed before 4 a.m. ...
However we got an extra 2 days of rest in the end waiting for 'clearance' to leave to cross the Rio de la Plata. This caught by surprise.
Enjoy the form. Lots of information and just good fun.
Hola Carlos y bienvenido al foro! Great to now have two new members from Argentina. Holland designed great boats - perhaps you can talk kumgang into considering a 'plastic' boat, maybe even ones without a full keel!
Hola Carlos , welcome aboard , great place you have there (BA) , i was there on my own doing some volunteer work for , The Thin Green Line , a couple of months ago and needed some cerveza and boat talk, hope we will catch up next trip hey.Enjoy the commeraderrie of the CF and the photo gallery of our big wet world.
