This is my first membership of an internet sailing forum, although I've lived in my yacht over 20 years. I was impressed with some thoughtful posts on Yanmar diesel fuel lift pumps, and then with the forum rules. I'm recently retired, and currently working on my yacht (major refurbishment) for a return to tropical cruising life within the Great Barrier Reef. I'm hoping there will be plenty of pleasant and safe sailing ahead, despite the higher risks (cyclones and floods) of the changing climate.

I wish safe and pleasant sailing to all members.

Hi Peggy, welcome. Townsville is where my boat is currently moored. And probably will stay that way for a while since I live in Rockhampton. At the moment, I am building up the bag of parts to take back up with me to do repairs and maintenance. I have found this forum to be a wealth of information. And it is nice to be able to contribute as well.

G'Day Peggy, and welcome to CF.

Ann and I slid through Townsville and Mag Island just a couple of weeks ago on our way south... sorry we missed you.

Good luck with your refit, and keep the forum updated on your progress or lack thereof. You will find lots of advice here, some of it worthwhile, and lots of sympathy for the things that go agley.

Cheers,

Jim and Ann s/v Insatiable II lying Manly, Qld, Oz southbound for Tassie
