Greetings to All,
I'm a new member, currently on the hard, building a boat with my partner (the real boat building expert) with the anticipation of living aboard and cruising in the near future. I've become an acceptable sander and glue-er over the last three years, but, cruising will be a new experience for me. I look forward to gaining some knowledge and insight from this forum, especially from a women's perspective.

Re: New Member

Hi, I am a lifelong lover of boats and the people who feel moved to be aboard them. I was raised on an old Alden schooner on the Mississippi River in the 1950's. I have lived in a boat building cooperative where I built ferro-cement boats with my husband in the 1960s and 1970s. In 1985, post-divorce and wanting to be captain of my own life, I bought my own little ketch, a 30ft Kenner Privateer. Well, that proved to be a bit much at the time, so moved ashore and settled for kayaking. I haven't had a boat in awhile because I have been busy writing a memoir about growing up aboard the old schooner. It was published recently. I have a website at Carole_Borges | Knoxville, TN 37917
