New kid....starting in the Sea of Cortez

Hello,
I just boight my first boat. A 43 foot Perry Polaris currently in La Paz Mexico. At some point I will take TIOGA down through the Panama canal into the Caribbean. For now the sea of Cortez looks rather interesting.

It will take me about two weeks to get to know the basics about TIOGA after which I intend to do some exploring..

If anybody is interested in exploring a bit of the Sea of Cortez let me know as I am a bit shorthanded.

Looking forward to lots of learning...

Nils

Be sure to be aware of severe weather events that sometimes occur in the Sea of Cortez. Chubasco is one.

Congratulations on the purchase of your boat, and good luck with future explorations. I've crewed on a few boats traveling along the Pacific Coast of Baja, but haven't spent too much time on the Sea of Cortez. Still, if you need a hand let me know. I live in Tucson, not really that far away, unless the border closes, as has been threatened!

Tioga will spend about a week to ten days on land getting a complete checkup and tuneup. After that I will spend time sailing and learning gow she behaves under sail. Beginning of February ahe will go back on land for outfitting to take her to the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean in fall of 2019. Send me a pm if you are interested in participating.

Well I guess they are both spicey in a way?
Hope you have some dive gear or at least a mask and snorkel there... some of the best scenery there is under the surface...

I seem to remember something about a plate on the compression post. TIOGA is hull #24 according to her papets. She is fine in the structural department. I had her surveyed by a professional and she came through very well.
