New guy onboard

Hi to all,

I'm an old dog hoping to learn both old and new sailiing tricks and tips. My friends and I sail an Islander 30 out of New Orleans Yacht Club. We sail a couple of nights a week, including the Wednesday night NOYC races on Lake Ponchartrain. I sailed a small racer as a kid, but was away from sailing for a very long time. I'm trying to learn as much as I can by reading, watching, asking questions, and doing.

Welcome Ed. Like you, I raced a one-class as a kid (El Toro) and have come back to sailing too many years later. Welcome again.

Aloha Ed,
Welcome aboard! Hope you and the boat have weathered Gustav ok. I have some friends north and east of New Orleans that I haven't heard from since it went through the area but they planned on power outages.
Kind regards,
JohnL
