Myrtle Beach Condo and my first 28+ sailboat all in one day

Hello!

New to the board and to sailing. I should actually restate that, new to sailing on the ocean and in a boat bigger than 16 feet. I've owned a couple little sailboats like a Sunfish and a small Hobie, but I haven't owned a boat in the last 20 years.

So for retirement, we've purchased a condo near Myrtle Beach (Murrells Inlet) and a boat currently docked at the Grande Dunes Marina in Myrtle Beach. It's a 27' Hunter with Yanmar diesel. I've taken it out for a trial along the intracoastal and a brief sale (mainsail only) on a small bay. Everything worked much better than I had expected, so I'm pretty happy.

I look forward to reading and learning a great deal on this board. Thanks in advance to those who have answered the same question dozens of times before; I especially taking the time to answer my question. Of course, I plan to do a lot of searching on this board and other sources before I go too far into questions.

So ... HOWDY! I look forward to being a member of the community.

Re: Myrtle Beach Condo and my first 28+ sailboat all in one day

Hello from Greenville SC. I just joined the boards today as well. My wife, Cindy and I are looking at the possibility of getting a sailboat at some point. I've done a little sailing on a 25' Helms and a 36' sailboat as well, but it's been years.

Congrats on your boat and getting it out! What year is your Hunter? Does it have a kitchen? Let me know if you ever want a sailing buddy :-)
