Hello I'm about 10 years away from
retirement. I live in the Midwest and have a 34 foot CNC on a lake in Illinois. I have limited
Bluewater experience but that is the goal.
I have decided to spend the next few years before I retire sailing about in the
Caribbean.
I think I can handle about 40 feet. My wife has a lot to learn but she's willing and able.
My friend has a 1993
Beneteau First 41.5 in excellent condition. It is located in the
Caribbean. My thought would be able to fly down to her three times a year and sail it.
I know for a fact that it has been expertly maintained. I have yet to see it.
Should I invest any time in this
boat? I understand it was a
racer cruiser and I'm really looking for a slower more comfortable easy to use
boat. I'm also where of the fact that it is Has quite the deep
draft. That may not be useful in the Caribbean.
The
price is good at about $60,000. I think it's good. Does anybody have an opinion?
