MIBS 2019

This will be my first time in Miami and I have Tuesday and Wednesday free. As a complete noobie to sailboats (looking into sailing/livaboard cats), I’ll be cruising the docks pretty hard Sunday and Monday. I have a hotel in South Beach. Figure I’ll Uber to and from the water taxi. Any suggestion on what I shouldn’t miss? Being that it’s rainy and mostly <45F here, just sitting in the sun nursing a foo-foo beverage doesn’t sound terrible .

Don’t miss the accessory tents. Lots of bargains to be had and the Miami show is a favorite place for manufacturers to introduce new products.

I’ll certainly be hitting those, plus checking out some of the go-fast center console boats for ideas for my next offshore fishing build (which I want until I get to the sailing cat time).

Finally, someone who understands what I mean when I mention going out to load up on fish. I always enjoyed reading your BD fishing reports. Welcome to this forum.

Re: MIBS 2019

Oh, there will definitely be a proper stock of fishing gear aboard my cruiser. Not just trolling gear! Trying to decide if I’ll bring the chamber sealer aboard (65#, does a wonderful job of sealing bags and even does retort bags), but it’s heavy and bulky. The old, drop a ziplock bag into a bucket of water to push air out works just find for short term frozen storage...

Re: MIBS 2019

Any suggestions for trying to book a day trip aboard a sailing cat on the 19th?

Re: MIBS 2019

I have never been out on one of their boats but they seem to have a couple of sailing cats in their fleet.
