Mad Max takes place in 2021. Time to buy a boat!

After many years, too many of them inland, I’m shopping for my second boat and building a crew. This time a catamaran in the 40-50 foot range.

Did a bunch of monohull racing, and a bit of cruising, but work took me away from the ocean.

In the interim, looking for crewing opportunities and training recommendations.

(I’ll post specific questions and to the crew area once I’ve searched the forum a bit more.)

I hear COVID has accelerated Catamaran sales.... and now I’m wondering what year Waterworld takes place.

Given the Mad Max reference, you may be an Aussie. But given the Waterworld reference, you may need to improve your taste in movies.

All that aside, do update your profile to let others know where you are. Particularly helpful if you are looking to crew for people.

Welcome to Cruisers Forum, though one of the mods usually comes along and says this soon.

Turns out I was misinformed anyway, original Mad Max was supposed to be the 1980s.

Waterworld doesn’t say but behind the scenes info says 2500.

It was just a year 2020 joke anyway, trying to come up with a thread title that wasn’t just “I’m new here.”

With a name of Ripley you should be using Alien references.

There are some fairly good deals on catamarans out there, if you could just get there (I'm sure this wouldn't deter Mad Max) https://www.yachtworld.com/boats/200...a-440-3688977/ Not too sure if the cars come with the boat but it does make a nice garage
