Looking to Make Friends and Learn to Sail in Austin, TX

My wife and I are dying to get out on the water and learn to sail. We are a younger but mature couple with a appetite for adventure and plan to live aboard this next summer(we're ambitious too). Unfortunately, the only place we found that does sailing lessons in the Austin area wants an arm and leg to share their knowledge.

So, if any of you fine Austinites would like to take on a green horn couple and show them the ropes, please drop us a line.

Best,
Alek and Andi

Ps. We can bring refreshments and plenty of conversation.

HI Guys,

I live in the Austin Area and found this last fall.

Austin J/24 Racing School

They are a great bunch at the Austin Yacht club on Lake Travis that give free lessons in the morning and invite you out to race with them in their club races in the afternoon. It is a great way to meet sailors and to learn a few things!

They should be posting a 2011 schedule soon, but I would contact them anyway. Jorge is very helpful.
