Just saying "hi" after years of visiting here whenever I needed good sailing information, and asking permission to come aboard as
member of the community!
I'm in the process of
buying a sailboat with the intention of taking her on a 5-7 year voyage around the world.I've already been poking around here (a LOT) for
research on
buying the right
boat and planning for the journey, and thought I'd finally introduce myself.
I've got around 5,000
blue water miles and two circumnavigations of the
Caribbean under my belt from 25 years ago - that's not a lot, I know. But it's enough to let me know what I'm getting myself into. :-)
I'm based in Lake Tahoe, CA right now, and will be moving down to the Channel Islands area to prep the
boat (and
skipper and crew) over the summer, so I'm looking forward to meeting some of the
California coastal sailors over the next few months. :-)
