Limbless Veteran
Hi every one. I'm Tim 61 from UK. I lost my feet in the army 31 years ago. I'm a fanatical sailor dispute getting sea sick easily for the first few days. I retire soon and will buy a yacht to sail the world. My daughter may crew occasionally and my wife when she can fly.
I plan to have an open invitation to any limbless vet UK or USA to come sailing.
I'm a ocean yacht master and have 40k+ mile experience. I will be reading all your advice etc, your never to old to learn. Tim
Ps last year i climbed my Elbert in CO. USA, first double amputee to do so I'm told.

Re: Limbless Veteran
Howdy! I don't really say "howdy" : )
Good on you for climbing Mt Elbert. I can not imagine how you feel, but even if you had feet climbing a 14'er is a fine accomplishment!
Welcome and happy sailing to you!

Re: Limbless Veteran
Tim, welcome to CF. I think it is us that might be learning something new.
Also being from the UK I had to Google Mt Elbert, respect for that achievement
It will be interesting following your travels.

Re: Limbless Veteran
Welcome aboard, Tim,
Good on the Mt. Elbert climb, and on not letting the loss of your feet slow you down, that's quite an accomplishment!
Now, as to this seasickness, me, too, but I've found Stugeron (available over the counter in England) takes care of it for me. Side effect-free, it's wonderful!
Ann

Re: Limbless Veteran
Hi Ann T. Yes i use quells but as i say after a few days it's ok. I used to have the only McGregor 26x with a channel handicap, sailed her down to Gib and back single handed some years ago and was ok. Did you know that quells were developed for hay fever but are great for sea sick too
