Land Locked Canadian.... Time for a change!!

Hello All! I'm quite excited to have found this site and the possibilities are just a bubbling through my mind. This is exactly what I have been dreaming about, and voila! Here it is!

I have done some very basic sailing, with my longest trip being a month down the pacific coast of Costa Rica and Panama, then passing through the canal. It was magical, and I have been eagerly anticipating a MUCH longer adventure ever since. The time has finally come!!!!

Glad you found the forum. It is indeed a great place to nurture your cruising dreams and you might just learn a little about boats in the process.

Welcome to the forum!

I see your from Calgary. We have a very capable member here, Jackdale, who also lives in Calgary, although right now I believe he is sailing to or near Hawaii. Very knowledgable, and as his profile indicates, includes as his credentials the following:
  • ISPA Yachtmaster Offshore Instructor Evaluator
  • CYA Advanced Cruising Instructor
  • IYT Yachtmaster Coastal Instructor

I believe he holds some courses on Glenmore. It may be worth your while to get in contact with him once he gets back on land.

BTW, I am a fellow Albertan, but live in that wonderful city north of you, Edmonton.
