Welcome aboard!

We are also on the east side and sail our Young Sun 35 foot sloop out of Muskegon, Michigan. That is, if the lake ever thaws this year!

Planning on taking her to warmer climes in about five more years.

Re: Lake Michigan Sailor

Greetings dangerfield55 - I am currently sailing a 1962 Pearson Triton out of Eagle Harbor. Which port do you sail out of?

Maybe by the first of August this year. I can't take much more of this global warming.

Hi Dangerfield
Me and my wife sail our 1961 Columbia 29 out of Muskegon MI. Although we are under contract for the sale of our boat and have our eye on something bigger. Hope to see you out there.

Re: Lake Michigan Sailor

Welcome. I moved to Sturgeon Bay from the Bahamas in the early 80's. Came up with a cocky salt water attitude, thinking it just a lake! Boy did I have a rude awakening! Navigation down here is easy, nice soft sand bars, not boat eating rock ledges! Enjoy it is beautiful and I miss it.

Spending the week cruising northern Lake Michigan. Water temp stuck at 39F. Air temp out on lake 48F. A lot of fog out on the water. Sailed Marinette WI to Beaver Island MI. Then Leland to South Manitou Island. Then back across the lake to Washington Island.
