Re: Ketch vs. Cutter

I believe I sed this--
" sail everything then figger out which YOU like best. Is a matter of personal taste, not popularity."
Idont care how many miles yada yada yada-- the point is that everyone sails differently and in different kinds of seas and likes different kinds of boats-- I have sailed many kinds of sloops from 1903 kinds to modern. I PREFER to sail a ketch ..LOL and with a forestaysail, at that..LOL.....everyone sails differently and everyone likes a different kind of boat... Sail many and see what you like and dont like---- goood luck!!
I just prefer to nothave to sail a sloop in long range sailing. I donot like the way they behave and i prefer the way my ketch sails in heavy weather. Btdt many many many times.

Re: Ketch vs. Cutter

Hmmm sloops...have higher mast...more difficult to manage sails, although I like em because no damn sprits. Ketch and cutter lower cuts and center easier to sail perhaps. zeezee's last response...from all the caps, perhaps a steam boat YAY!

Re: Ketch vs. Cutter

I love the look of a ketch, but I'll stick with a sloop for simplicity, but I'll sail my little nutshell pram or sunfish if that's all that is available, I just love to sail.
