Just about to leave...

Hi Everybody,
I've been enjoying your forum for several months now and finally felt it was time to join. My wife and i are just about to depart on our boat to go cruising, in fact we aim to leave next Saturday. We have been planning this adventure for many years so the fact that departure date is now imminent means that i am effervescent!!

Our boat is called Viridian and she is a 1998 Northwind 50. We bought her 2 years ago and have been updating her, sorting snaggings; and learning her peculiarities since then. Now we finally feel that she is ready to go and we are both really excited.

The reason i have called myself Paramotorgreg is because I am taking my paramotor with me on the boat and I am looking forward to flying it around some of the places we visit.

I look forward to meeting some of you on our travels.

Welcome aboard Paramotorgreg. Congrats on beginning your voyage. Can you attach the paramotor to your dinghy and fly it?

Howdy and Ahoy and Welcome Aboard CF!

The Northwind 50 is a very nice looking boat. I have enjoyed viewing them (sisters) and was impressed by what I saw. It looks like a wonderful boat for extensive cruising.

And Viridian is a nice name for a boat, and one of my favorite colors (I am an artist).

The paramotoring sounds interesting. I hope you will post some photos of your use of it so we can see how it is done. I recall reading about another CF Member who is a paraglider, and he took his with him around the world, flying (gliding) in several places, including Tahiti.

Your post nor your profile mentions where you are leaving from as you start your cruising. Where are you now and where will you be cruising? Med?

Have fun with your boat and also in CF too!

Steady

Re: Just about to leave...

There used to be a crazy guy around Ft. DeSoto Park by St. Pete, FL that used to fly one of these things. He offered me a ride but I declined, he was really nuts. However, had a sane man offered I would have gone in an instant!
