Hi,
Like most I suppose I join with one precise reason in mind : four years ago, as we were sailing on the northern Cuban coast and wanted to reach the
Exumas in the
Bahamas, I realised that there was very little information about the crossing of the great Bahama bank just south of Andros. After many stressful hesitations, due to the lack of info and the scary look of the maps, we still decided to go for it.
The only info I had was 2
GPS points and the name of a pass, the ''Washerwoman pass'', that I got from a pontoon talk in a Cuban marina... Not the most convincing piece of info, especially since at the time I could not find any confirmation from anyone else (including pros from the area) or anywhere on the web .
All went fine (it was actually a great feeling to be there in this such a strange terrain) and I promised myself that I would share this info to make it easier for the next ones interested in this crossing.
OK, four years is not exactly prompt, but here I am, sharing it with you guys.
I hope it will be useful.
Francois
