It was now or never

Hi everyone!

I live in Niagara Falls. I had a health scare this past winter, and realized most of my life was behind with so many things I wanted to do.

I just bought a 45' Roberts designed Maritius cc ketch. The price was so attractive I had to buy it. It's currently in Toronto, more or less.

One small problem. Unless you count one summer 30 years ago when I had a Albacore my sailing experience is zero.

I'm probably not the only guy who put his proverbial aft cabin ahead of his bow. Looks like I'll be out on Lake Ontario learning as much as I can this summer.

Hi, wallythacker, and welcome aboard CF.

What have you done? Begun an adventure in both sailing and boat maintenance, so congratulate yourself, and go sailing!

Ann

Yay, well done! Go down to the local marina and/or yacht club, and I’ll bet you’ll find people who’d be happy to go for a sail with you and give you plenty of advice. If several agree on something, it is probably worth doing

Welcome Aboard CF, where there are always more than a few opinions on any question.

Bravo on your decision to go sailing again, WALLYTHACKER.
