Re: Iroquois Cat Skeleton Cabin Door Keys

. OK Here is the final result on the Key Duplicates. After ordering a dozen keys from a casting company , the keys duplicated turned out smaller due to shrinkage of the rubber mold . I was not informed that the keys would not turn out exact duplicates. Then the company suggested that I order keys made from a non-shrink rubber mold. DUH !. The new keys did not turn out the same size even with the non-shrink rubber mold. So let my costly $400 Clams be a lesson for you to remember. I am electroplating the last set of keys at home on my own and hopefully i can gain some extra volume to match the original key. Now I'm on a quest to find someone to point the finger at.

Re: Iroquois Cat Skeleton Cabin Door Keys

Jaen Brutus,

I bet you can still whip this, and by making your own keys. What your picture looks like is a bit of round stock, with the flat where you grab it, which is not essential, it could be a bit of crosswise round stock, too, and some rectangular stock.

With time, patience, and a Dremel tool or a set of files. It is real picky to do--I've only made one key, and I had a blank for it--so you have to be real patient.

Or, like you said, maybe it is time for new locks.

Ann
