Hi, I am new to this board. My wife and I live aboard our Caliber 40 with our dog. We plan to go cruising in a couple of years. I have been boating for 40 years in all type of boats. We mainly do all of our own work on the boat. You can see some of our projects in my signature.

I do frequent a couple of sailing boards but since the destruction of livingaboard.com I have come over here.

Welcome to the forum. I grew up sailing in Maine -- loved it! But it sure must be chilly living aboard there right about now.

I lived aboard a Nonsuch 36 in Boston for 4 years -- brrrr!! Sold the boat and moved to Phoenix to thaw out. Then had to get a boat again -- but took off from the west coast and went south to warm water!!

I am new to this forum. We have been a boating family for nearly 50 years and have lived aboard for many years on and off including living aboard for a 4 year term with our 6 children. We are looking forward to cruising the Bahamas again but wondered how things have changed in the last several years in terms of food supplies, availability and getting water from ashore. I would loved to hear others experiences.

Thanks to everyone welcoming us.

Maine is beautiful in the winter. We love living aboard. We have a nice diesel hydronic heating system that keeps us toasty warm. Warmer than our previous home, a 200 year old cape.
