Intro from the Gulf Coast

Hello. Joined about six months ago, and just getting around to the formal introductions. We just closed on our first big boat this week, 36' Mariner Sloop, Antiqua! We have secured a slip at Fly Creek Marina in Fairhope, AL, where we live. Antiqua is a 1980 Peter Canning design, one owner, in very good condition. We took it out for our maiden cruise last week and it lived up to what we were hoping for, (interest in this boat began over a year ago).
Love the Cruiser Forum app and hope to one day be able to contribute some wisdom rather than just soaking it all in from others.

Congrats on the new boat! It's only downhill and uphill at the same time from now on... Ask away, and soak up as much as you like... You'll be helping in no time!

Re: Intro from the Gulf Coast

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here. I've sailed a smaller Mariner before and it was a well made boat. Not to be confused with the William Garden design.
kind regards,
