Hello all, I am looking to become an owner of a sailboat in the 40-50ft range. To live aboard and charter. Willing to go anywhere in the world. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I have no sailboat experience. But grew up on the great Lakes. Know how to fish somewhat. 34 years old, male.
Re: Interested in becoming a owner sailboat/charter
Loads of threads here on both subjects (liveaboard and chartering). Given a search.
A key issue with "anywhere in the world" is that you cant just pop into a foreign country and start legally doing business. Getting legal can be a signficant hurdle in many countries.
Setting up shop in your native country, or one of its territories, is normally WAY easier.

Didn't people like Don Street and Tristan Jones put together their own ride-sharing, cost-sharing interns, acolytes, students, whatever, to fund their sailings worldwide?
