Thanks kjames for the warm welcome, I'm base in kuala lumpur actually. The closest marine yacht Club is at Port Dickson which is 80 km away.
I will move to port Dickson soon just to get closer to the beach and yacht Club. Lol

Hello and welcome to the community, Wagyu
What is it about sailing that made you decide to try it?

Dang... GUILTY as charged!
Nice to have you here!
You can get it in major cities, but not at the regular markets... In small cities, not a chance.... I would guess the minimum price would be around $20/lb US
I'll honestly bet around here less than 2-5% of the population even knows what Wagyu is...

Hi Andrew Troup,
So nice to meet you and this is really a good question.
Since I'm really don't have any sailing experience, please forgive me if I'm offending anyone.
Yacht sailing is always my dream since young when my first saw a yacht.
Owning a yacht and Living in it with my family is what im planning in the future too since my wife and my daughter are in love with the sea as well.
I've tried a day cruise in the yacht and I really love the feeling on it. Feel so good when look at the sea although I never been through a bad weather cruising ( touch wood), but I know that's the experience I have to been through too.
And now if I don't start learning it my dream will never come true. So here I am.

Lol, I'm more than welcome if you thinking to sail to Malaysia or Singapore. You can have a nice wagyu anytime here. I think there are two type of wagyu which from Japan and Australia. Of course the price will be different too.
It will be perfect if cook in yacht too. Just seasoning with salts and pepper and pan fried it thyme and butter. It's the best steak in the world. Lol

You're killing me!
I can't even get the the butchers market here to make me a simple Tri-Tip loin cut... Rare everywhere East of Texas... I brought 10 on dry ice from CA last time I was there....
Tri-tip - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Our US available Wagyu is Australian I am almost certain....

IC, so sorry to hear that. You should buy more next time in CA.
Or eat more when you sail out next time in other country?

Re: i'm newbie from Malaysia
Interested in learning more about the boating community of Malaysia. I've gotten the impression it is almost completely sail and very few own power boats. Is that true?
Also, I know Grand Banks is built in Malaysia. Do they sell any to the local market or all exported?

Hi BandB,
So nice to meet you.
As you know i'm really very new and fresh in cruising so i do not really know the boating community of Malaysia, i've went to a Langkawi marine and Port Dickson Admiral Cove marine for many times, there are really not much power boats parking there. Mostly completely sail type and also i can't tell all is from Malaysia too as i never go looking at their flag.
For the Grand Banks, there are building in Malaysia but there not direct selling it. There is a legal dealer for it name PEN~MARINE who selling it.
https://www.grandbanks.com/dealers/malaysia.cfm
Not sure for the pricing but i think it ain't cheap.
Best regards
