But to be honest, there hasn't been much diesel specific mechanicing necessary. I've replaced injector pumps, lift pumps, injectors, etc. Not that I claim to be a diesel mechanic.

Re: I bought a boat...

14 month update. The boat has come along nicely. Preventive maintenance done:
new batteries
traced down, checked and labeled and cleaned up most of the wiring on the boat
all new fuel and coolant system hoses, belts, impeller
cleaned fuel tank
new racor fuel filter
replumbed fresh water system with pex
new macerator pump, fresh water pump, water heater and rebuilt Whale gushers
new LED lighting inside and out
new grill and galley stove
new dock lines, anchors, chain and rode.
temporary air conditioning
rebuilt head
new head and galley faucets
new smoke and CO alarms
rebedded several fittings
retorqued keel nuts
replumbed fresh/black water vents. New fresh water fill hoses.
New deck cap O rings
new propane locker and lines

This fall: step the mast. New running rigging. Standing rigging inspection. Winch sevice.
Spring/summer: all new electronics and solar. Bottom job.

Retire June '23. Set sail Oct '23.

So far, so good. No real surprises. I've enjoyed the work and getting to know the boat.

Re: I bought a boat...

Its awesome to hear what you've got done. My wife and I are in the process of doing the same sorts of things to our Endeavour 32, with about the same plan. Not sure if we'll make the '23 season but '24 for sure.

The only thing I might suggest would be if the rigging is original just plan on replacing it. If it's less than 10 years a good inspection is probably enough, replacing anything suspect.

Keep us posted, I'm interested in your journey !
