Howdy from Deadman's Island FL (Pensacola)

Just a short intro from a guy who has 30+ years in a variety of sailing vessels from Catalina 22's to my present love, a Hoyt designed Freedom 40 Cat / Ketch. Although I've been a member of this forum for a while, I really haven't been paying attention and this is my first post.

If I can every be of assistance, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Mike

Aloha Mike,
Welcome aboard!! My first boat was a Catalina 22 fin keeler in Pearl Harbor. Great boat. I've had several since and your Freedom sounds interesting. I was always curious about their performance. Do you have full batten sails?
Kind Regards,
JohnL

Freedom 40 sails

In 1988 this boat was upgraded to new carbon fiber masts and booms eliminating the original wishbone booms. Steve Haardstick designed the large roach, fully battened sails she presently carries which lasted twenty years. Steve is building new sails that are scheduled to be delivered at the end of the month.

The Freedom is a great off wind cruiser. We just transversed the Gulf from Pensacola to Sarasota at an average of 7.3 knots.
