Hi, it's John in Jacksonville, FL

I've been lurking on the boards for a while, but figured it was time to log-in and be a more active participant. I've owned a 461 Beneteau for ten years when I lived in Atlanta and sailed out of Charleston. The drive was just too long for my wife and young daughter at the time so I finally decided to sell my boat. Not long after, I moved to Jacksonville and find myself boatless within 5 miles of the ocean on one side and the beautiful St. John's River on the other. Go figure.

I've made several off-shore multi-night passages including the first Charleston race to Bermuda (placed third time corrected) and helped crew a few delivery boats along the east coast. Sailing is still my passion and I have started looking for another yacht that can do some real long distance cruising.

Don't be surprised to catch me scanning the boat classifieds here

John

Howdy and Welcome Aboard CF!

It is always nice to see a Lurker come in from the cold.

Have fun on the forums, and good luck with your boat search.

Just rerigged a 461 at Ortega Landing marina. They are currently bound for Turkey.

Whoa, I didn't realize there were any 461s in Jacksonville, although I never walked the docks in Ortega's marina. Are they visiting Turkey or was the visit Jacksonville. Nice to know there's a good rigger nearby.
