Hello- I'm working on a documentary based on a Canadian book called "Acquainted with The Night" by poet Christopher Dewdney. The film will explore our relationship with the night and will be broken down into 12 storylines (each one about a different hour of the night- based on a 12 hour night).
We'd like to do a storyline on blue water
sailing- exploring what it's like to be on the water
at night, getting up at 2am to do a watch, looking at the stars, maybe even using them to navigate, finding out how it feels to be out in big water
with no shore in sight, blanketed in darkness.
I'm looking for people who might be interested in participating, or in sharing any stories or experiences on blue water sailing
at night. I'm at firstname.lastname@example.org
We're flexible with regards to location and will most likely have a window to film beginning in October through the spring of 2009. The film will air on CBC television (Canada's national broadcaster) and will be something that could air on PBS in the US, if that helps.
I'm not sure if this is the best place to post and would love suggestions on that as well.
Thanks very much!
