Hi From Texas

Hi Everyone!

Just dropping a line from Kemah Texas. New to the Forum and hope to get some great knowledge from everyone. Huband and I just sold our dirt home and are now full time liveaboards on a Searay 400 Sedan Bridge. With our two pups as well. Goal is to do the great loop.

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum! I am fairly new here too and recently bought a sailboat to eventually do full time cruising. I am at Watergate in Kemah! Great area.

Welcome fellow Galveston Bay boaters. We are at Watergate with our Catalina 470 (just acquired in March).

Re: Hi From Texas

My wife and I sailed up from Marathon, FL to Kemah in May. Still getting the lay of the land around here. We've met some very nice people while here so far seems like a great place. We're staying at Portofino Harbour. Good luck to you, welcome to the liveaboard lifestyle!

Would love to hear about your trip sometime. We thought about Portofino too! Great people in the area.

Re: Hi From Texas

About to jump in with y’all - maybe next summer...I look forward to being neighbors! In the meantime can I use each of you as a resource? Y’all know more about EVERYTHING than I do so please let me learn from you! Let me know when I can tag along for a weekend cruise since I am such a wonderful, lovable guy I’m sure you won’t mind having me onboard

Re: Hi From Texas

Buddy of mine used to work at Portofino - nice enough place but I’ve heard Watergate is better...all about opinions of course

That would be fun. We don't know the area enough to suggest a place to grab a drink, and well there is also the pandemic, so we'll have to figure something out. Feel free to reach out with suggestions.
