Hi from South Africa

Hi Everyone, new-ish sailor here from Cape Town. Ive been restoring a L36 for about a year in my spare time to go cruising anywhere and everywhere. I hope to meet some great people on this adventure!

Re: Hi from South Africa

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Shroudinger.

Based on your screen name, I expected your L36 to be a "Cat", but based upon your location, I suppose it's actually a Lavranos.

Thanks for the welcome Gord. Unfortunately a bit out of my budget... but the name is appropriate for a cat yes... The missus studies philosophy hence the name...

Re: Hi from South Africa

Apologies, yes its a Lavranos 36... Apparently 1 0f 2 with a dual step deck configuration. Built in the late 80s in Boputaswana and moved to Johannesburg and then Durban as a semi complete. This is where i found her in the hills of Amanzimtoti, trucked her to Cape Town and has been struggling to find enough time to get here done. I was busy painting the deck when the lock down started and got about half way...

Here she is!

Thanks @khoff. She is great very roomy inside! Needs a bit of TLC here and there but everything is going great with the renovations!
