Hi from Queensland, Australia

We live in the Widebay area near Fraser Island, the sandy straits are fine for power boats but yachties have to be careful due to areas of shallow water. We are in the process of buying a power boat after selling our Roberts 34. Just hoping fuel price doesnt increase!

G'day, we live in the same area! The shallow water is no problem for our sailing boat!

Ideal for cats,we hired one up in whitsundays, good choice for a week but absolutely no wind whatsoever, the area is getting overcrowded and hire agencies getting too greedy.

Aloha and Welcome aboard!
I hope your wish is correct and fuel prices don't increase but from history they will.
regards

Welcome Aboard Jangler,
Spent a week on Fraser Island and the surrounding area... Your are very lucky to live in such an beautiful and bountiful area. If not a Cat, may want to consider a shallow draft motor sailor... Could be the best of both worlds

Do you mean Wathumba? A lot of it dries at low tide, but there is a deeper hole. Drawing only .75m, if you go there during neap tides you should be fine.
