Hi from Mark and Audrey.. Typical UK "Experienced" Types Looking to Venture Out

Hi!

Well I am sure our story is typical.

We are early 50's. I stated to race dinghies when I was a kid. I still do, and race an RS400 at the local gravel pit. Audrey sacked that off as the boat kept killing her (probably my fault!).

We are keen RYA Day Skipper types with a good glut of Greek, Turkish and Croatia sailing both in flotilla and bareboat form.... both short handed and with kids and family as crew. We also have some UK waters experience out of Southampton Plymouth and Oban. We make sure we sail around 2 weeks every year.

We stay humble and we reef in early!
This helped us just recently where we chartered in San Francisco Bay. Let me tell you it blows under the Golden Gate!

Anyway... its time to dream about bigger and longer periods. Work is freeing us up and we have some cash..... maybe... if I can get sign off from "The Boss"..... A plan is emerging.

I am going to have questions.....!

Mark

Howdy Mark and Audrey!

I like that photo of you two on SF Bay (one of my favorite places). Sailing there (and under the GG Bridge) is an unforgettable experience.

I wish you both the best of fun in the sun in the future.

Thanks Steady...

Actually that one was on the north end of Mull when we were sailing out of Oban.
Here is a link to some iPhone footage we took in The Bay. I had uploaded it for Mark and Cheryl, the owners we we sailing with.

xxx Mark

Welcome to CF !

Understand that some of us have a hard time "reefing" our sarcasm, and speculative humor....

Sometimes it really blows here on CF...
