Welcome to the Forum, Mikel! Glad to have you onboard!

Where are you off to after the Canaries--the Caribbean, perhaps?

Fair winds,

Welcome aboard Mike - and no worries, your English is fine. I suspect you'll find answers to questions you may have about the Caribbean on this site as there are many who are currently (or who have recently) cruised there.

Cheers!

"No plan" is a good plan for cruising the Caribbean, Mike. Go wherever you want, and stay a while if you like it there. Hope your passage is a safe and enjoyable one. Keep in touch and let us know how it goes.

cds,

WELCOME, and enjoy your trip. The no plans usually makes life much safer. Where in Germany are you from? My boat Imagine was built in Berlin, and launched 10 years ago......i2f

Aloha Mikel,
Welcome aboard! You have a lot of experience to share with us and maybe we can ask you questions about where you sail.

Gruess Gott,
Munich is wonderful beer country! I learned to sail on Chiemsee back in 1972 while I was stationed in Germany with the U. S. Navy.

Gute Morgen John,
Munich is not just a Beer Country, the Geografic Situation is perfect, 1Hour by car to famous skiing Areas, 4Hours to the Adriatic Sea Italien for a sailing Trip to Croatia, so you can see there is a lot of more Things that you can do in Bavaria.
By the way, I never saw a Warship at the Chiemsee, I know ther ewas an American Facility near by the Highway to Austria...

So, the Weather is now much more better then the Days before, I have to check my Genset, there must be an Elektrik Problem, the Engine does not start maybe Ignition Problems...

Hi Mikel, and welcome.

Maybe we will see you this winter. We left the western Med in September and are now in the Canary Islands. We will cross to the Caribbean and also have no plans after that.
Munich is one of my favorite cities and I have been there often. It hosts the largest sporting goods show in the world.
We will watch for you,
Jim

Aloha Mikel,
You are right about no warships at Chiemsee. My duty station was in Stuttgart at Panzer Kaserne (Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines). The military hotel on the Chiemsee is the place where sailing lessons were offered. It was a wonderful time and I spent several Christmas holidays in the Garmisch-Pattenkirchen area too. I used to do Volksmarches on weedends. Lots of fun in a wonderful part of the world.
Kind regards,
JohnL
