Hi all anyone know about merc engines?

Hi everyone, just bought a 1964 merl keikhaefer thunderbolt that doesn't seem to have a pee hole, it sprays water out from above the prop shaft but I can't find a pee hole next to the engine cover, is this normal for this engine? Any help would be appreciated thnx

Can you send some more details? You mean mercury outboat or mercruiser inboard?
