Hi all !! Adventurer in Need of Adventures !

Hi,

I'm a 36 year old male, physically fit (in the forces) just recently discovered a appetite for sailing. Will be completing my comp crew next month. I would like some advice on the procedure for gaining experience of crewing on yachts. I have looked at a few subscription websites and would appreciate any ones views on those, or any better ways to meet happy, helpful and experienced people to help me start my belated adventures!

I assume you mean London, England, UK.

I assume that the yacht clubs there operate much like the ones here and have physical and on-line bulletin boards for skippers that need crew, generally for racing.

Find out what and exactly where your local YC's are and visit them.

You might get lucky here, but you should start a thread titled 'Want to daysail near London' or something equally short and info laden.

Luck

Welcome,

Its worth a trip to a marina, pop into the nearest bar or cafe, meet some of the boat owners and skippers, good luck!
