Hi

Hello Everyone,
I am brand new to the forum and boy do I have a LOT to learn! I am a mountaineer and snowboarder from Colorado who's only sailing experience was taking a Sunfish with a homemade aluminum mast and a tarp for a sail across the Long Island sound when I was 15 with my brother. Quite the adventure! We sailed the boat all the way across the sound and was slapped silly by our parents when we returned home (slapping for stupidity was allowed in the 70's).
Fast forward 40 years. I am planning to head to South Florida in Jan/Feb to take a sailing class for the basics (ASA 101,103,104) and try to learn as much as possible with the dream of eventually purchasing and sailing in the latter years of my life. My wife isn't too keen on my mountaineering expeditions or the back country snowboarding so she is very supportive .
I appreciate everyones knowledge and postings for those of us who are new to the lifestyle and I will be lurking and learning as much as possible!
Rob
