Hello Y'All, from Norway !
Hello y all!
We’re living in the middle of Norway and plan to, within a couple of years, start sailing the northern latitudes with our 47 feet aluminum sailing boat. We will start out sailing the area of Shetland, Orkney and Faero Isles. Later on we will head for Spitsbergen, Island and finally Greenland, before finally heading south to defrost and retiere in milder and warmer climate closer to ecvator.
We're looking forward to get some new friends on the forum, and of course exchange experience and share knowledge. We would especially like to exchange common issues regarding maintaining a aluminum boat and of course any issue regarding sailing the northern latitudes.
Looking forward to meet you all

G'Day Henrick,
Lots of aluminiium boats out there today so suspect you'll not be short of advice.
Welcome to the forum and enjoy the passage.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum, The forum's search engine works pretty good for finding nearly anything you are looking for here. In addition, most of the forum ranks pretty high on Google.com 's search engine. Beth A. Leonard has newer book, Blue Horizons that covers northern latitude sailing. I believe she and Evan now sail an aluminum 47 footer.
Here is her link S/V Hawk

Dear Capt'n Henrik,
I've been sailing with Gyda through the Atlantic in 2008 for seven weeks and she was simply great in all weather conditions. I love the idea the boat has a new Viking captain, she deserves nothing less!!
That's truly a unique and charming vessel you have, I wish you the best wind and luck for your next travelling.
Ciao,
Andrea
