Hello to the group

Hi all,

We are new to the forum. We finally have the boat (Tayana 48DS) and the nav plan (QLD coast and beyond) - it's just a matter of the last remaining details - selling the house and what do we do with our very much loved dog Sasha? Anyway, I am retired so I will be looking for a few crewing jobs to learn more skills before we make the final break-away. We will be asking lots of questions to help prepare, so stand by!

Cheers
Mark

Welcome from the Northern Rivers, raining tonight is it not. Do you have one of the scuttleshakers that you named yourself after then?

Hello!

I am new too, and also have a dog. It is the one hang up I have about leaving. He is 5 and I'm planning on having my mother watch but it breaks my heart to leave him The one solace is that we have taken him sailing on our small 22ft boat and he HATES it lol

Re: Hello to the group

Thanks all for the welcome, and yes Coops, I did own a TR6 for 20 years before giving it up for the boat. A great car, but ready for the next adventure!

Cheers

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here on the forum.
I'm a former TR4A owner. Lots of good old oil leaks and popping the hood (bonnet) before each drive to top off dual carb oil.

Re: Hello to the group

Welcome to the Forum.... I was the newbie yesterday. Triumph TR6 caught my eye. I kind of lost my 1960 TR3-A in my divorce. She was pressing hard for a value so I gave it to my son. Would rather that then the alternative. Loved that car...British Racing Red with black racing stripes, wires with knockoffs.

Re: Hello to the group

"British racing red". Shocked I am. British racing green it is, but never red. You would be fed to the pigs for suggesting that at a pommy car show. Still, it would have looked great, got any pics?

We may be brothers from different mothers. Add motorcycles to mine though.

Re: Hello to the group

I (in my younger years) always wanted a motorcycle. Nothing big just something to play with off-road. I dare age myself when I say... as a 13 year old I learned to ride on a Honda 305 Scrambler.... I loved the look and I loved the sound of it. But, sadly I never owned a motorcycle...Over the past 18 months since my divorce was complete I have become semi-actively involved with Portland International Raceway and SCCA events. Just being in the midst of all these race cars is invigorating. "Nothing like the smell of racing fuel in the morning".... Then the quiet tranquility of sailing off into the sunset....
