Hello, sailor!

Good morning, all. Pleased to be here. I joined a while back but just now am getting going with it.

My new old sailboat is a 1999 Hunter 340. As my first cruising boat, it seems near perfect in size and outfitting for its intended use, cruising the southeast coast. It also is lightly used, with only 300 hours on the motor, and kept in fresh water most of its life. I am discovering that's a mixed blessing: the boat is in excellent condition but the motor has not been run as diesels like. I have questions about that and other matters I'll post as they arise, if I may.

At this point, I keep Sequoyah in New Bern, North Carolina, a river town with brackish water and picayune tides 35 miles up the Neuse from Pamlico Sound. Should any of you frequent that area let me know and let's get together at a local place when the Sun sinks below the yardarm.

Grateful to have found this fine forum,
Attikos
