Hello Will, welcome to the forum. Good luck with your search for the right boat.
Thanks Bill! I've been browsing boats online quite a bit, but I'm probably a year or so away from buying anything! Kind of have my eye on a Jeanneau 42 sun odyssey, but I'm just getting started, my desires might change!
Do it where you plan to sail...none tidal courses are also a waste of time if you ever hope to sail safely in North Wales.
Thanks for the advice Phil, it's appreciated. I was planning on taking courses out of Conwy as the Welsh coast is pretty close to me and that's likely where my boat would be to start.
I heard about courses in the Aegean, and tempting though it is to spend a week floating about in the Greek islands, I'd rather get some practice in slightly harder conditions while there's someone experienced around.
Welcome to CF.. I'll 3rd the take your course in the UK..
If you can learn to handle the challenges of N Wales's tides and coastline your set to go any where.
