Hello from s/v Vinga

Hi, everyone, just found this place. I frequent the Cruising World BB, and Scuba Diving magazine's D2D, a diving board. Have lived on my current boat, Vinga, a Lagoon 42, with Mr. Kitty, for three years. She's my third (and final?) liveaboard.

I am in a pleasant rut of spending my time between the US Virgins, St Croix, mostly, and staying hurricane season in Bonaire. I call myself 49% sailor, 51% diver. I have an electric onboard scuba compressor that I'd like to replace, so I can be rid of that genset.

Coming south this past August, Vinga hit something (container?) that took paint off both keels three feet underwater, and ripped off one of my rudders. The post is carbon-fiber, so it broke cleanly. It's taken until a coupla weeks ago to get a new one, and I hope to pop up to St. Croix in two weeks. I'm really happy about this passage, I have two Island guys for crew that are ace sailors, and good friends. But my rule of "Only three nights on the boat once we're there." will be in effect. They both have to come back to their captains jobs on Bonaire, anyway.

Hi from Norway! It's very nice to have you as one of our members Melissa.

So you're a catamaran sailor AND scuba diver too. Then we have a lot to discuss. My cat is a Belize 43 currently located in the Seychelles and I love scuba diving. Just came home from a liveaboard scuba holiday in Thailand and Burma which was amazing.

Long time no see.
I am the cool guy that took you out for dinner in St. Croix 5 or 6 years ago..Ya still had the old boat then and I was diving every day of Salt River.

Hmm, times fly these days.

Still living on land here in Ft. Lauderdale, but at least the boat is finished as fas as the big wishlist and all the toys to be installed.
Just waiting for an omen to break loose and do it again.

(Hmm, guess the omen is in the mail, I will get furloughed in November and probably un-employed for the next 2 to 3 years)
