Hello from Ontario Canada

Hello, i'm new and wanted to say hi. I've had an interest in sailing for awhile now and i'm looking for some guidance and tips while i search for my first boat ie: what to do and what NOT to do haha! Hope to talk to some of you around the various boards.

Glad to see another sailor join the forum. Just remember free advice is worth what you paid for it. Some is truly great…some not so much. It’s all a part of the learning experience

Re: Hello from Ontario Canada

Try to find a boat as close to factory original as possible, regardless of age.

Run away from boats where the owner is proud of the "improvements" that were done over the years.

"For sale" photos where the interior is a cluttered mess, decks not washed in years are a hint of how the boat has been treated over its life

Thanks for the tips! Yes the first few 'free' sailboat ads one clicks on...you find out very quickly why they are free!

Re: Hello from Ontario Canada

Welcome to CruisersForum!

I would suggest updating your profile with your boat make & model or “Looking” in the "Boat" category. This info shows up under your UserName in every post in the web view. Many questions are boat and/or location dependent and having these tidbits under your UserName saves answering those questions repeatedly. If you need help setting up your profile then click on this link: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3308797

I would happily help more if the link above is not enough.
